Known as the lifelong advocate for Farmer's Rights. The late Chaudhary Charan Singh served as the Prime Minister of India in 1979 during the Janta Dal government. Chaudhary Charan Singh has been posthumously honored with the Bharat Ratna for his unwavering dedication to the welfare of farmers.

Dr. Swaminathan is also known as the father of the Indian Green Revolution. His efforts in modernizing agriculture have been instrumental in achieving self-reliance in food production during critical times.
