Indians once again gained pride worldwide. This time the women section, four Indians in the Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women list, make India proud. These women have shattered the traditional barriers and become an inspiration for others.

Forbes, a well-known magazine, uses four metrics to determine the rank of women. These metrics are money, media, impact, and spheres of influence. These Indian women stand as the powerful symbol of leadership and resilience in the global arena.

Indian Women Among 100 Most Powerful Women List:


These Indian women's personalities are from different professional sectors. These are from leadership, business, technology, and engineering. They have proved their excellence in their respective sectors and heading them.


Nirmala Sitharaman:


Indian Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, is ranked 32nd among the 100 women. She is 64 years old and one of the senior members of the Bhartiya Janata Party. She has also been in charge of the Minister of Corporate Affairs since 2019.

Nirmala Sitharaman served as the 28th Defence Minister of India from 2017 to 2019. She is the second female defense minister after India Gandhi. It is not the first time Nirmala is on the Forbes list. She was in the 36th position in 2022. 


Roshini Nadar Malhotra:


Roshini Nadar Malhotra is a 42-year-old billionaire and philanthropist Indian. She is ranked 60th position on the Forbes 2023 Most Powerful Women list. She is the first woman to lead a listed IT company in India and is listed for creating history.

Roshini N. Malhotra is the lonely child of Shiv Nadar the founder of HCL. According to IIFL Wealth Hurun India's Richest List of 2019, she is the richest woman in India. She has been consistent in Forbes's Most Powerful Women List since 2019.

Soma Mondal:


Currently serving as the chairperson of the Steel Authority of India, Soma Mondal has ranked 70th position in the Forbes list. Soma Mondal created history by being the first woman to be in this role since 2021.

Soma Mondal, born and brought up in Bhubaneswar, has 35 years of experience in the metal industry. She founded NALCO and rose as the top official Director. She has also held the position of Chairperson of SCOPE apart from her corporate achievements.


Kiran Mazumdar Shaw:


The 70-year-old Kiran M Shaw is a prominent Indian billionaire entrepreneur. She is the founder of Biocon Limited and Biocon Biologics Limited in Banglore. She has received many accolades worldwide for her contribution to science and chemistry.

This year, she is ranked 76th position in Forbes' Most Powerful Women list. She was earlier positioned among the Top 50 Women in Business List in 2011 by the Financial Times.

These proud Indian women represent the strength of the country at the international level. They are the inspiration for millions of women in the country and for others. Two of them created history by marking their name in the Forbes Most Powerful Women list 2023.
